Hamer, Sexton, Forkenbrock and Hodgson Recognized for Contributions to North Liberty

Tim Hamer, Bruce Sexton, Kellee Forkenbrock and Kayla Hodgson were recognized for their work at the City of North Liberty with annual employee awards.

Hamer, the city’s assistant parks superintendent, was named Employee of the Year. While Hamer has “never had a bad day at work,” according to Parks Superintendent Guy Goldsmith, Hamer took his leadership to a new level over the past year, with great values and the vision to help make North Liberty the best it can be.

Sexton, an officer with the police department, was named Officer of the Year. He was recognized for his willingness to help others, a strong commitment to solving crimes and his determination to always going above and beyond on any call or contact with the public. Earlier this year, he recieved one of three Life Savings awards, awarded for the successful resuscitation of an individual during a cardiac arrest.

Forkenbrock and Hodgson, were both recognized as Rookies of the Year. Forkenbrock, public services librarian, was praised for helping to build the foundation for a consistent staff training program and her willingness to take on something projects and delivers results. Hodgson, assistant youth and teen services librarian, was acknowledged as a steadfast part of the programming team, who’s welcoming smile makes a difference for the library’s younger patrons.

Mayor Terry Donahue and City Administrator Ryan Heiar presented the awards, along with recognition of employees meeting longevity milestones, and the city’s annual employee holiday potluck.
