Let’s Keep Working Together to Keep Our Community Healthy
As COVID-19 continues to be present locally and throughout the state, Mayor Terry Donahue urged residents to remain cautious, practice distancing and limit travel.
Earlier this week, Gov. Kim Reynolds extended most statewide restrictions until May 15, including the prohibition on gatherings of more than 10 people and the continued closure of many businesses such as bars, salons, movie theaters, bowling alleys and campgrounds. While limited restrictions have been eased in some counties, restrictions to restaurants, retail and other businesses remain in full effect for 22 counties, including Johnson County.
“The threat of the virus is real, and risk of spreading it remains,” said Mayor Donahue. “While I’m as excited as anyone to get out, we can keep working together to help our families and community stay healthy and safe.”
Simple steps such as good handwashing, maintaining at least six feet of distance from others, limiting trips to essential ones, wearing a face cover in public and avoiding groups continue to help limit the spread of COVID-19.
We will be responsible and adaptive as we adjust the dial to keep our community and our staff healthy. Local resources and information about COVID-19 is available at northlibertyiowa.org/coronavirus.
