Water Pressure May Vary as Tower Undergoes Maintenance
Some North Liberty water customers may notice variations in their water pressure. This does not impact the water’s safety or availability. The variation is due to reduced storage capacity as the water system’s 1,000,000-gallon tower along Kansas Avenue is being repainted. The system has sufficient production capacity.
Painting is expected to be completed today, and the tower is expected to be back in full service by the end of November, and possibly by Thanksgiving, following safety rigorous testing.
Customers may notice fluctuations based on how far they live the city’s smaller, 400,000-gallon water tower on 240th Street, and at peak usage times, such as Sundays and evenings.
Meanwhile, crews continue to flush hydrants, which can cause some discoloration, but remains safe to use.
