Free tickets for North Liberty Night with the Kernels

Update: all free tickets have been claimed. Additional tickets can be purchased from the Cedar Rapids Kernels.

On Friday, Aug. 19, the Cedar Rapids Kernels will host North Liberty Night with the Kernels as they play the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, and we have some free tickets to give away.

Starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 15, adult North Liberty residents can each get up to four tickets at the front desk of the Community Center, 520 W. Cherry St. We have a limited number of free tickets, and they will be distributed in-person on a first-come, first-served basis only while they last. Those picking up must show proof of residency — ID or current utility bill indicating you live in city limits.

The gates at Veterans Memorial Stadium will open at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, and the first pitch is 6:35. Aug. 19 is also Wands & Wizardry night at the Kernels, and the first 1,000 early arriving fans will receive a free mystery wand. The team will also wear wizardry themed jerseys that will be auctioned off.

These free tickets are thanks to MercyCare North Liberty, South Slope Cooperative Communications, Great Clips, Hills Bank, Diventures, Moxie Solar, Corridor Kitchens & Bath Design, Dan’s Overhead Doors and Centro, Incorporated.
