NLPD to Join Cop on a Rooftop Fundraiser Aug. 19
On Friday, Aug. 19, from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m., North Liberty police officers will participate in the seventh annual Dunkin’ Cop on a Rooftop fundraiser for the Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics Iowa at the North Liberty Dunkin’, 620 Meade Drive. The goal is to raise more than $30,000 for the athletes of Special Olympics Iowa at the 21 locations across the state of Iowa..
Each guest who makes a donation will receive a coupon for a free donut. Donation of $10 or more gets a coupon for a free medium hot coffee, and donations of $20 or more will receive a coffee tumbler while supplies last. Donations will be taken in cash, check made out to Special Olympics Iowa, credit card or Venmo.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is the largest grassroots fundraising vehicle in the world, according the Special Olympics Iowa. The annual Torch Run and its various fundraising projects have two goals: raise money and create awareness for the athletes who participate in Special Olympics, and more than 1,000 law enforcement officers around the state of Iowa annually participate in Law Enforcement Torch Run programs.
