Few people bring the summer’s theme of Find Your Voice to light better than author Chuy Renteria. Chuy is the author of We Heard it When We Were Young which tells the story of growing up in small town Iowa as a first generation Mexican American. Chuy’s story continues as a advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the University of Iowa.
55+ Connections Lunch

This week we will have Pizza Ranch catering lunch, which usually means fried chicken (though all meals are subject to change). The Visiting Nurse Association will also be there in order to do free blood pressure checks! After lunch we will have chair pool noodle hockey! Feel the competitive thrill right from your seat! Registration for lunch just $5 and is required for all who attend. Participants must register before noon on Thursday, July 13th. Marc Janssen & the Locals play original music from the great Midwest, with a style that leans toward the country side of Americana. Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Marc Janssen grew up in a Midwestern small town, observing firsthand the balancing act of hard work and hard luck. He writes songs about everyday life.

Fresh Conversations is a free nutrition and physical education program for ages 60+! The program offers practical tips and sensible solutions to everyday problems that get in the way of doing what most people want to do: eat well and live well.
