We’re already coming up on the fourth last Friday of August, which means it’s time for Yang Chow Wok! Our presenter this week is Dr. Mikeala Lengwin of Humpal Chiropractic and she will be talking to us about aging with mobility and strength. Registration for lunch just $5 and is required for all who attend. Participants must register before noon on Thursday, August 24th. Pickleball Lessons
Beginner: Sept. 7 & 14, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Penn Meadows Park, $25
Intermediate: Sept. 21 & 28, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Penn Meadows Park, $25
Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports around. It’s easy to learn, and here’s your chance to get more involved. The first two-week session will focus on beginners and teaching the basics of the game, including the rules, keeping score and serving. The second session will be geared towards players looking to learn strategy and doubles play. For both sessions, the courts will be available until at least 1 p.m. so participants can stay for an additional practice and play with other players. Registration is required before August 31st.

Iowa vs. Iowa State Watch Party at Colony Acres

Colony Acres Family Farm – 1150 Front St NE, North Liberty
Sport your favorite black, gold or cardinal attire and watch the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones face-off in the annual rivalry football game. The game is taking place in Ames, but we’re throwing a party at North Liberty’s Colony Acres Family Farm. Entry is free as well as many activities for kids. No outside food allowed but, there will be food and drink available for purchase. There will also be a live performances from the Iowa Brass Band, as well Ambition Baton and Dance and prize drawings!
