Free Movie Night

Coralville Public Library – Schwab Auditorium 

Come to the Coralville Public Library for a free movie night! On October 5th there will be a showing of Knives Out. 

When an acclaimed crime novelist hosts a birthday dinner and delivers bad news to members of his family, he turns up dead the next morning. Starring Daniel Craig, Jamie Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, and a host of others. Knives Out is rated PG-13 and is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes long. 

Basement parking is available!

North Liberty Rec Center – Classrooms 3 & 4 

It’s officially October and we are at the first Friday of the month! This means Hy-Vee will be catering and they are expected to bring ham, broccoli, and mac and cheese (but all meals are subject to change). After lunch we’ll have Bingo, which is free to play with the chance to win small prizes! Registration for lunch just $5 and is required for all who attend. Participants must register before noon on Thursday, October 5th. Call the Rec Center to register (319)626-5716 or go online to your RecDesk Account and register yourself. 

Will and Estate Planning 

Monday, October 9 

1:30 – 2:30 PM 

Solon Retirement Village 

Joe Deeney, a local attorney, will discuss the importance of having a will and trust. No one wants to think about dying, but creating an estate plan can help you prepare for the unknown. Come learn how to prepare for the future.

Stroll with Friendly Ghosts 

Friday, October 13 

10:30 AM – 12:30 PM and 6:30 – 8:30 PM 

Liberty Centre Pond – Cherry St, North Liberty 

Park at the Community Center and walk through the Ranshaw Way underpass over to Liberty Centre Pond. The pathway will be lit by all kinds of friendly ghosts and ghouls giving out candy and you guiding you along the way. Grab a scavenger hunt sheet for a chance to win special prizes. Costumes are welcome, but not required. Feel free to snap photos/selfies to share on social media. Hot chocolate will be provided. Event is free, but donations welcome. All ages, family event but children must be supervised by an adult. 

Haunted Painting Take Home 

Through October 15 

North Liberty Library – Front Desk 

Pick up a piece of artwork from the library front desk and then make your monstrous masterpiece! Add ghosts, ghouls, pumpkins, bats, or whatever spooky fun you’d like. Once you’ve “haunted” your painting, bring it back to the library by October 15th, and we will display it!

The focus of the City of North Liberty Transportation Assistance Program (NLTAP) is to assist eligible residents who may – for various reasons – by unable to travel to important destinations in and near North Liberty for essential quality of life services. To qualify: you must live in North Liberty, and not own a vehicle (or are unable to drive). Apply online at northlibertyiowa.org/nltap or call 319-626-5722 (leave a message).
