Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
What is LIHEAP? LIHEAP is a federally-funded program designed to assist low income families meet the cost of home heating by providing a one-time payment to the heating utility.
Who can apply? Both owner-occupied and renter-occupied households are eligible to apply. Households with incomes at or below 200% of the federal poverty income guidelines may be eligible for assistance.
When can I apply? Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis November 1 – April 30 of each year. Households with a member 60 years of age or older, those who are disabled, and those in crisis can begin applying October 1st.

For your convenience, drop boxes are available 24/7 to submit your application. Please ensure all required documents are included. If not provided your application will be marked as incomplete and returned back to you.
55+ Connections Friday Lunch

We’ll be having Mirabito’s Italian for lunch this week. The VNA nurse will be on site to do free blood pressure checks and after lunch we’ll have BINGO! Registration for lunch is just $5 and is required for all who attend. Participants must register before noon on Thursday, November 16. CLUB 24 is a new program for adults to socialize over University of Iowa Athletics.
This week we will be watching a rerun of the Iowa Illinois game.
Patrons can sign up online, over the phone (319-626-5716), or in person at the Community Center. Patrons must reserve their spot by the proceeding Friday (November 17th) each week.
Patrons will pay $6 cash day of the program unless they sign up online. Online registration you must pay at checkout. The cost will cover cinnamon rolls from Bluebird Café. Coffee will be provided for participants also.
