Older Driver Safety Week
December 4th-8th is Older Driver Safety Awareness Week.
Between 2012 and 2021, the United States population of people 65 and older increased by 29%. In 2021, 7,489 people 65 and older were killed in traffic crashes in the United States accounting for 17% of all traffic fatalities. To learn more, check out these resources:

Sewing Holiday Gift Bags

Step up your gifting game with a hand-sewn holiday gift bag. Bring your sewing machine and sewing kit (encouraged). The craft may also be completed by needle and thread (provided by the library). Class size is limited so registration is required.

This week Hy Vee will be catering for lunch. We will also have the nurse with the VNA to do free blood pressure checks. After lunch we’ll have a presentation from Haden Hammel of Humpal Chiropractic, talking about Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis. Registration for lunch is just $5 and is required for all who attend. Participants must register before noon on Thursday, December 7th. Call the Rec Center to register (319)626-5716 or go online to your RecDesk Account and register yourself.

CLUB 24 is a program for adults to socialize over University of Iowa Athletics.
This week we’ll be watching a rerun of the Big Ten Championship Game OR Iowa-Iowa State Wrestling Meet.
Patrons can sign up online, over the phone (319-626-5716), or in person at the Community Center. Patrons must reserve their spot by the proceeding Friday (December 12th) each week.
Patrons will pay $6 cash day of the program unless they sign up online. Online registration you must pay at checkout. The cost will cover cinnamon rolls from Bluebird Café. Coffee will be provided for participants also.
