Film Screening: King in the Wilderness Thursday,

January 11

6 PM

Ranshaw House – 515 Community Drive, North Liberty

Directed by filmmaker Peter Kunhardt, King in the Wilderness chronicles the final chapters of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life, revealing a conflicted leader who faced an onslaught of criticism from across the political spectrum. Drawing on conversations with those who knew Dr. King well, the film reveals stirring new perspectives on Dr. King’s character, his radical doctrine of nonviolence and his internal philosophical struggles prior to his assassination. From the passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1965 to his assassination in 1968, Dr. King remained unshakably committed to nonviolence in the face of an increasingly unstable country.

This screening is free and open to all. No registration is required.

We’re committed to providing access, equal opportunity and reasonable accommodation at our events for individuals with disabilities. For accommodations, please reach out to [email protected] or call (319) 626-5755.
