Celebrate National Night Out in Penn Meadows Park on August 6
On Tuesday, Aug. 6, join city staff in celebrating the nationwide community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
The five Ws
- Who: First Responders & YOU!
- What: National Night Out
- Where: The north side of Penn Meadows Park, 355 E Penn St.
- When: Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m.
- Why: Community-building and neighborhood camaraderie with free food, fun, games and prizes.
What to expect
Visit with fellow residents, North Liberty public safety and Johnson County emergency service organizations on the north side of Penn Meadows Park.
- Free dinner (hot dogs, potato chips and water) will be provided in partnership with the Optimist Club of North Liberty.
- Children can enjoy bounce houses, the splash pad and playgrounds.
- Paint an squad car, collect giveaways and play trivia, water balloons and other games with the North Liberty Police Department.
- Climb inside a fire truck and visit with staff and volunteers of the North Liberty Fire Department.
- Receive giveaways from event sponsors, MidWestOne Bank and Veridian Credit Union.
- And meet with other emergency service organizations including:
- North Liberty Emergency Management System (EMS)
- Joint Emergency Communications Center (JECC)
- Johnson County Community Violence Intervetion (JOCO CVI), Special Response Team, Dive Team and therapy dog.
You may also be wondering
- This event will be focused on the north side of Penn Meadows Park around the large pavilion. Please park in any of the park’s paved lots or along nearby residential streets. ADA parking is available in both the north and south paved lots.
- Skip the car and walk, bike or roller blade to the park!
- Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome and the park’s restrooms will be open and available.
- The use of tobacco, nicotine, vape and other electronic smoking devices are prohibited in North Liberty parks, trails and public recreation areas.
