Fire Department Responds to Fire in Golfview

The North Liberty Fire Department was dispatched at 05:29 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024, for a trailer home fire at 128 Golfview Court.

The North Liberty Police Department was the first to arrive and witnessed fire coming from the roof on the east side of the structure. Home occupants were awakened by neighbors alerting them of the fire.

As North Liberty fire units arrived, firefighters deployed hose lines to knock down the fire, which was located on the exterior and interior of the building along the roof line. There were no working smoke detectors sounding on the arrival of the Fire Department. The home occupants are displaced and are staying with relatives in the area.

Firefighters from Coralville and Solon assisted in the effort, as did the North Liberty Police Department, Johnson County Ambulance, Linn County REC, Mid-American Energy and the Johnson County Emergency Communications Center.

Crews were on the scene for just under two hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation. A loss estimate is unavailable at this time.
