Like a Lion: Community Activity Highlights for March 2025
You can get a copy of the full guide to classes and programs in our Community Center, which includes our Recreation Center, Library, Aquatic Center, Gerdin Conference Center and other spaces, published three times each year, in person at the Community Center, 520 W. Cherry St., or online. These highlights of the coming month are published on the third Thursday of each month. You can sign up to have this emailed to you at northlibertyiowa.org/subscribe.
News & Updates
Watch for the seasonal guide, covering programs, classes and events in May, June, July and August, coming in March. Registration will begin for most programs on April 7 at 6 a.m. in person and online.
In Case You Missed It
Registration is open for two events North Liberty Youth Council is hosting this spring: a friendly pickleball tournament on April 11 for high school students and a 5-on-5 flag football tournament for students in grades 6 to-8 on May 10, 2025.

There’s always something free and fun to do in North Liberty. The City Slate offers events all year long, and is made free with the support of Centro, Inc., Collins Community Credit Union, Corda Credit Union, The Eastern Iowa Airport – CID, Hills Bank, MidWestOne Bank, South Slope Cooperative, University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Urban Acres Real Estate and Veridian Credit Union. Operation Leprechaun
March 14-23, throughout North Liberty, Free
Follow the string of clues around North Liberty to help capture a runaway leprechaun. Complete the full clue hunt to win a prize. Be careful and watch out for traps.
Glow Mini Golf
March 21 4-7 p.m.; March 22 4 – 8 p.m.; March 23 1-5 p.m., Community Center, Free
Challenge family and friends to nine holes of blacklight miniature golf in the Community Center gym.

Euchre Tournament
March 8, 9 a.m., Community Center, $20 per team
Join us for the Recreation Department’s fourth Euchre tournament. The tournament’s format is dependent on the number of teams entering (we have done pool play, bracket play and total points). Entry includes breakfast and payouts for the top three winners.
Teen-Only Glow Mini Golf Hour
March 21, 7-8 p.m.
NLYC is hosting a glow mini golf hour for area high school students. Bring your appetites for the free taco bar and challenge your friends to nine holes of backlight miniature golf.

Playful Parenting

Join us for a fun and play-based Playful Parenting Group, the cornerstone program of our Family Place Library designation. The group offers a relaxed and informal time for families to play, learn and talk with local child development and early literacy specialists. This group is geared toward families with children ages 1 to 3 but open to families with children ages 0 to 5.

Pied Piper with Orchestra Iowa

Join Orchestra Iowa’s talented string, percussion, woodwind and brass chamber ensembles as they introduce preschool-aged children to the instruments of the orchestra! Focused on fun and learning, Pied Piper concerts offer children the opportunity to enjoy an up-close and personal chamber concert. The concert lasts about 30 minutes. March is Woodwinds!
