Let Love Fly June 14 in Centennial Park

On Saturday, June 14, mega kites will soar above North Liberty’s Centennial Park. Come for awe-inspiring views, and information, activities and giveaways from organizations and sponsors for a community celebration of love. Here’s all you need to know.

  • When: Saturday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Free programming to look forward to

Throughout the duration of the event, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

What to bring

  • Your camera!
  • Lawn chairs and blankets to relax on while enjoying the sights.
  • Your own kite to fly. If you don’t have one, 300 free kites will be handed out. Kites will also be available for purchase from Great American Kites.
  • Your wallet to purchase lunch from food and treat trucks or a picnic to enjoy with family and friends. A friendly reminder: alcohol is not allowed in city parks.
  • A water bottle.
  • Your dog, if you’d like. They are welcome as long as they are on a leash and you clean up after them.

Food for purchase

  • Marco’s will have grilled cheese and quesadillas.
  • Hy-Vee will be serving hamburgers, hotdogs, brats and chips.
  • Moo Moo’s will have ice cream treats.
  • Picnics are also welcome and encouraged. A friendly reminder: alcohol is not allowed in city parks.

How to get there and where to park

  • Centennial Park is located between Kansas Avenue and Jones Boulevard at 1565 St Andrews Drive.
  • Please park on the park’s paved lots or along nearby residential streets.
  • Skip the car and walk, bike or roller blade to the park!

Hy-Vee Center & Amphitheater is currently being constructed in Centennial Park, so the event will be focused on the south end of the great lawn.
