Song of the Week: Summer Hits!

We will feature a different song every week in 2026! Some will be golden oldies and some will be newer. If you’d like to submit a song to be considered for Song of the Week, email Corrie at [email protected] or leave a message for her at the library front desk.

For this week’s song, I wanted to pick one of my favorites because my birthday happened recently and it is a treat to myself to have one of my favorite songs in the newsletter. So, please enjoy this instrumental piece released in 2024 called “Kitten in the Corn” by Lo & the Highroad. You can listen to it and watch the best music video ever here.

I feel like this song perfectly captures the playful nature of cats and the title is so fitting for it! Can’t you just see a kitten weaving around cornstalks, running home for some nice milk after a long day of playing in the summer sun? This tune always puts a smile on my face, and I hope it brought one to yours as well.
