Physical Facilities Manager
The City of North Liberty has an opening for a full-time Physical Facilities Manager. This new position serves as the primary contact for the City of North Liberty’s physical plant, including building maintenance, cleaning and repair contracts, HVAC operations, generator inspections and maintenance, and is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of City facilities. The Facilities Manager will work across departments to maintain safe, functional and clean environments for City staff and patrons.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of four years of work experience in a related field. Candidates must have experience in project management and facilities maintenance, as well as a solid understanding of commercial HVAC systems, including air flow and damper controls. Knowledge of plumbing or mechanical systems is required, along with subject matter expertise in electrical systems across low, medium, and high voltage levels. Arc Flash Certification is required, and a Boiler Operating Certification is recommended, with the ability to troubleshoot low-pressure boilers. Applicants should be able to read and interpret building schematics and as-built prints. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required, and experience with facility management software and strong communication skills are preferred. Salary range is $77,000 to $109,000 depending on qualifications. Excellent benefit package. Required to pass a post-offer physical, drug screen and background screen.
