As Governor Expands Business Closures, City Reminds Community of Temporary Sign Rules
Last month, as Gov. Kim Reynolds ordered certain businesses to close, we temporarily relaxed some temporary business signage rules. The goal was to help local businesses let the community know what services they were offering and help customers who were seeking out open local businesses and services.
The governor has since expanded the businesses covered by her order. Our previously adjusted sign rules remain in effect, and we stand together with healthcare workers, first responders, local businesses, and our entire community as we work together to fight this pandemic.
We’re still asking businesses, residents, organizations and others who place signs, to place them outside of the public right-of-way, which generally extends a couple of feet past the sidewalk from the road, as well as to the keep signs at their home or site of their business. If you have questions about signs of any sort, don’t hesitate to reach out Code Compliance Officer Deb Petersen at (319) 626-5728 [email protected].
