Red Fern Dog Park’s Grass Needs Your Help

The good news is that dogs — and their humans — love Red Fern Dog Park. Like, really love it.

The bad news is that all that love and heavy use has impacted the park’s young grass.

Red Fern Dog Park will have to close in the spring to help a recent dormant reseeding take root. Meanwhile, the park remains open, and memberships won’t be required until after the closure. The park is expected to be closed from March 1 to May 31, 2021, depending on weather.

Meanwhile, park users are reminded to only park on the lot’s hard surface, and not in the grass if a space isn’t available. If parking isn’t available, users should return to the dog park at another time; the lot was deliberately sized to limit the number of pooches playing at once.
