Apply Today to Help Make Community Decisions with a Commission Appointment

Each year, the Mayor and City Council appoint commissioners to the city’s volunteer advisory boards and commissions. The commissions and boards help make decisions about a host of issue facing our community: library policy, if a variance to code should can be allowed, priorities for public parks and recreational amenities and so much more. Volunteers are needed to help lead and advise on those commissions. Applications are due June 23, 2022.

Applications are available online at northlibertyiowa.org or at City Hall. Completed applications can be mailed to City Hall; c/o City Clerk; P.O. Box 77; North Liberty, IA 52317; in person at City Hall or by email at [email protected]. Iowa State Code requires that cities have gender balance on all boards and commissions. With appointments and reappointments, gender balance will be considered. Applicants must be 18 years old and a legal resident of the city.

After the deadline, applications will be considered by the Mayor and City Council. The Mayor will make recommendations for City Council approval, and appointments will begin July 1.
