Complete Operation Leprechaun Over Spring Break

Your mission: Track down a mischievous leprechaun by following their trail of gold throughout North Liberty.

The five Ws

  • Who: Operation Leprechaun is open to all, but geared towards families with younger children.
  • What: A short choose-your-own path scavenger hunt to track down a leprechaun who has been running around North Liberty and has been spotted at various business around town.
  • Where: Start at the Community Center and then travel throughout town.
  • When: Start and complete the hunt any time between March 14 and 23.
  • Why: Explore North Liberty and visit local small businesses.

What to expect

Adventures should start at front desk of the recreation center inside the North Liberty Community Center, 520 W. Cherry St. There they will pick up a pot to fill with gold and to receive a digital link to a story that will guide them to locations throughout town. At each stop, participants will look for the leprechaun’s footprints that lead to an inflatable leprechaun and notify a staff member to be rewarded with a leprechaun coin before heading to the next location. At the final stop, each adventurer will be rewarded a prize for collecting all of the coins.

What to bring

Adventurers will need a smart phone and some form of transportation as they travel between stops, including: Geek City Games and Comics, Flip Salon, El Azul Mexican Market, Java House, Posy Bakery and Cakes, North Liberty Flower Shop, Clark Orthodontics, Centro, Collins Credit Union, Hills Bank, MidwestOne Bank and the North Liberty Library and recreation department.
