Locals School Districts Enrolling for Kindergarten in Fall 2021

The school districts serving North Liberty — Clear Creek Amana and Iowa City Community — are already gearing up for fall 2021 with kindergarten registration. Children who will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 15, 2021, are eligible for enrollment in kindergarten.

To find you local school, you can visit the Johnson County school locator. District-specific registration information for each district is below. To register, you’ll need verification of your address (such as a rental agreement or utility bill), the child’s certificate of immunization, and verification of the child’s age (which can be the certificate of immunization). School staff can assist with registering children.

Clear Creek Amana School District

Families can register their future kindergarteners (and preschoolers) at Clear Creek Amana schools Feb. 16 through March 26.

The district will assign kindergarten students to the school in the CCA boundary area that corresponds to their home address. At this time there are no spring kindergarten round-up activities planned and families will be notified of any fall back to school events. For families wishing to open enroll into the Clear Creek Amana Community School District, please note all elementary schools are closed for open enrollment except for Amana Elementary.

Iowa City Community School District

Families can register their future kindergarteners (and preschoolers) at Iowa City Community schools on March 10 between 7:40 a.m. to 7:10 p.m. at the child’s school. To encourage social distancing, the district would like families to sign up for a registration time online.
