North Liberty Lights on Display Through Feb. 28

There are still 10 nights to visit Liberty Centre Pond to admire North Liberty Lights presented by GEICO Careers. The illuminated winter display which debuted Jan. 29 will be lit nightly through the end of February.

The exhibit invites spectators to walk under tunnels and take pictures with a dozen colorful 3 to 10-foot tall winter scenes of snowflakes, penguins, polar bears, deer and more. North Liberty Lights turns on each night at sundown for North Liberty residents and visitors to enjoy at their leisure for free. Some of the units are animated but the display is not accompanied by music.

Experience the array of lights in a unique way with free bike carriage ride between 6 and 8 p.m. Feb. 20 and 27, compliments of Pedal Power. Rides will depart from the gazebo at the southeast corner of Liberty Centre Pond. Guests will be provided rides on a first come, first served basis. No reservations. Each carriage can accommodate two adults or two adults and up to two small children. Tips for the bikers are appreciated, but not required.

North Liberty Lights is one of 40 events on the City Slate, a compilation of North Liberty’s largest and free city-produced events.
