Homeowners Invited to Apply for Housing Rehabilitation Program
Qualifying North Liberty and Johnson homeowners at or below 80% of area median income are encouraged to apply for grants of approximately $15,000 towards specific home projects such as furnace, roofing, siding, window replacement and electrical or plumbing upgrades.
This program is one of the owner-occupied rehabilitation programs offered through the East Central Iowa Council of Governments for low-to-moderate income homeowners living in the home as their primary residence.
These grants are funded by the Federal Home Loan Bank, Johnson County and the Housing Trust Fund of Johnson County and are available to qualified homeowners for:
- Roofing and Gutter Repairs
- Replacement of doors, windows and siding
- Porch, stair and deck repairs to address deterioration
- Drainage or foundation repair
- Electrical or plumbing systems
The property must be the applicant’s principal residence, and manufactured homes may be eligible. Preference may be given to applicants 65 and over, households with children or those with a disability.
