New water and sewer rates in effect July 1, 2017

Effective July 1, 2017, North Liberty’s water and sanitary sewer rates will change. Other services that appear on monthly city utility bills will remain the same.

The minimum charge for sanitary sewer customers will increase by $1.43 to $30.03, and will include the first 1,000 gallons of use, and each 1,000 gallons of use above that will increase by $.26 to $5.40. The minimum charge for water customers will increase by $.74 to $15.57, and will include the first 1,000 gallons of use, and each 1,000 gallons of use above that will increase by $.31 to $6.29. Water and sewer services are billed in 1,000-gallon increments.

These rates, approved by the city council in three successive votes, reflect the cost of operating the municipal water and sewer systems, including ongoing maintenance and the construction of infrastructure.
