Join a commission and help set the direction of the city
Two appointed boards have openings, and volunteers are needed to help lead and advise on those commissions. Applications are due Jan. 31, 2018
Applications are available online at northlibertyiowa.org or at City Hall, 3 Quail Creek Circle. Completed applications can be mailed to City Hall; c/o City Clerk; P.O. Box 77; North Liberty, IA 52317; in person at City Hall or by email at [email protected]. Iowa State Code requires that cities have gender balance on all boards and commissions. With appointments and reappointments, gender balance will be considered. Applicants must be 18 years old and a legal resident of the City.
Board of Adjustment
The Board of Adjustment hears and decides appeals for building permit approval when a permit has been denied because of non-compliance with certain requirements of the zoning code. This Board meets only when an appeal has been filed.
Appointment is to complete a term ending June 30, 2021. Full appointments are for a five-year term.
Communications Advisory Commission
The Communications Advisory Commission recommends and reviews policies, rules, regulations, ordinances, and budgets relating to communications and engagement initiatives of the City and makes such reports to the Council as the Commission deems in the public interest. They also Assure that the operation of the public access channel be as free of program censorship and control as legally possible. The Commission meets quarterly.
Appointments are to complete an unexpired term ending June 30, 2018. Full appointments are for a three-year term.
