Wash Your Hands. Cover Your Coughs and Sneezes. Stay Home When Sick.

Update: we’ve added a page of resources that we will update.

There’s been a fair amount of media coverage surrounding COVID-19, often called just “coronavirus,” and we’ve fielded some questions about it. Two pieces of good news: local public health officials tell us that, first, the risk in our community is lower than it is for the flu and, second, the safety precautions are the same for both:

  1. Wash your hands
  2. Cover your coughs and sneezes
  3. Stay home when sick

We’ll continue to clean our facilities as we do throughout cold-and-flu season, and follow the guidance of Johnson County Public Health and the Iowa Department of Public Health. The IDPH and CDC offer a wealth of advice and information for businesses, schools, employers, travelers and others about the disease.
