Celebrate Our 110th and Get a City Hall Sneak Peek on Nov. 10

Celebrate North Liberty’s 110th birthday with cake, ice cream and a sneak peek of future City Hall. The building has been in the plans for more than a decade and will create efficiencies by bringing together staff from several different buildings, including the current leased space that houses administration offices.

The five Ws

  • Who: North Libertarians curious what the heck is going on at Dubuque and Front streets.
  • What: Celebrate North Liberty’s 110th birthday with cake, ice cream and a sneak peek of the future City Hall.
  • Where: Start at the Police Station, 340 Main St.
  • When: Friday, Nov. 10, between 4 and 6 p.m.
  • Why: Any excuse for cake and ice cream is a good excuse.

What to expect

Check in at the Police Station for cake, ice cream and tours. Small tour groups will leave every 5 to 10 minutes to tour the future City Hall. The tour is through a building under construction and not yet complete and will require attendees to move through incomplete rooms, walk up and down stairs and navigate the potential hazards of a construction site. Tours of the Police Station, which opened had a virtual ribbon cutting in 2020, will also be available.

What to bring

  • Closed-toed shoes
  • A love of cake and ice cream
  • Community pride

How to get there

  • Cake, ice cream and tours will start from the Police Department at 340 Main St.
  • Park on Main Street, in stalls on Dubuque Street, along Cherry Street and in the Penn Meadows Park lot.
  • Skip the car and walk, bike (racks are located near the police station entrance) or roller blade!

Help Build Centennial Park’s Next Stage

We’re committed to providing our residents and visitors opportunities to play in North Liberty, and we have big plans for Centennial Park. To help us add to and enhance our programming, please consider making a donation to Building North Liberty’s Next Stage campaign. When complete, Centennial Park will be home to the Centennial Center — a multipurpose indoor event space and connected outdoor stage — an open-air pavilion, expansive plaza spaces, a premier splash pad, wheelchair-accessible playground features, expanded parking and trails, restrooms and an honor garden. Learn more about the project, make a one-time donation or pledge financial support over multiple payments at northlibertyiowa.org/nextstage.
