$7K and 30 Days Remain in Centennial Park Funding Challenge

Just $6,708.94 remains with 30 days to go to meet the $100,000-in-90-days challenge and secure a State of Iowa grant for North Liberty’s Next Stage capital campaign.

The challenge inspired individual and business commitments from $10 to $15,000 following the announcement of the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s Enhance Iowa grant.

Gifts to the designated fund at the Community Foundation of Johnson County now will close the gap and secure the $900,000 Enhance Iowa grant.

Support for the capital campaign has been enthusiastic and diverse, and will help enhance Centennial Park in four phases with a new amphitheater, indoor event space, pavilion, splash pad, shelters, restrooms and an honor garden recognizing Iowa’s service men and women.

To date, more than $2.2 million of the overall $3.5 million goal has been committed to the capital campaign, including more than $122,372 from individuals and grassroots fundraisers.

A designated fund has been established at the Community Foundation of Johnson County to accept donations. The community foundation can accept a wide array of gifts, including cash, stocks and required annual 401k distributions. Contributions of any size are meaningful and eligible for tax deduction.
