City Hall Reopened at 360 N Main St.

City Hall has moved from its previous, leased offices into the new, permanent building at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m.

The public can accesses the same services at the new location during the same business hours: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Departments located at the building include Administration, Billing and Finance, Building Inspection, Planning, Community Relations and Human Resources.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Find Leprechaun, Hiding Throughout Town, in March

There’s been some leprechaun sightings and we’re going to spend Spring Break following their trail of gold as we look for them throughout North Liberty during Operation Leprechaun.

The five Ws

  • Who: Operation Leprechaun is open to all, but geared towards families with younger children.
  • What: A short choose-your-own path to track down a leprechaun who has been running around North Liberty and has been spotted at various business around town.
  • Where: Start at the Recreation Center and then travel throughout town.
  • When: Start and complete the hunt any time between March 9 and 17.
  • Why: Explore North Liberty and support local small businesses.

What to expect

Start at the North Liberty Recreation Center, 520 W. Cherry St., where adventurers will pick up a pot to fill with gold and to get the link for the story. Adventurers will choose between between locations as they progress through the story. At each stop, adventurers will look for the leprechaun’s footprints  and notify a staff member to be rewarded with a leprechaun coin before heading to the next location. At the final stop, adventurers will be rewarded a prize for collecting all of the coins.

What to bring

Adventurers will need a smart phone and some form of transportation as they travel between stops, including 365 Nutrition, Bluebird Diner, Geek City Games, North Liberty Ace Hardware, City Tractor, El Azul, Field Day Brewing Co., Leash on Life, North Liberty Flower Shop, Flip Salon & Spa and Andale Cantina Bar and Grill.
