Hoping for Good Weather and Completion

Hello readers…I hope all is well.  My apologies for the delay since me last blog.

Despite the lack of cooperation by Mother Nature, the Highway 965 project continues to move forward.  Right now, a lot of infrastructure and underground work is being completed, including water main and storm sewer installation.

Fairview Lane was scheduled to be open on August 20.  Unfortunately, because of the rain, it looks as though it will not reopen until Monday, August 23.  That said, by Monday we are hopeful that, in addition to Fairview Lane, the driveways at Clubhouse Drive and Quail Creek Circle will also be open.

Also on Monday, it is planned to start some patching work in front of Clubhouse Drive.  There is a section of concrete in front of and just south of Clubhouse Drive that will be removed and replaced.  This work will begin around 8:30 AM on Monday the 23rd and should be completed by the end of the week.  While the travel lanes will be open, this project will certainly slow traffic down.  Please be cautious while traveling through this area next week.

The contractors should be finished with the majority of the work on the west side of Highway 965 by the end of the month, weather pending of course.  Once work is completed on the west side, we will be moving traffic to the east.  Once again, this will cause some delay in traffic.  As we get closer to the change over, I will keep you posted.

It appears that Forevergreen Road may open to local traffic this week.  The intersection of Jones and Forevergreen Road is now the task at hand.  The contractor has started work on the intersection and will complete it in four phases, working on each quadrant separately, in order to always leave a lane open.  In addition to the intersection, grading work has begun on the sidewalk and private drives that enter onto Forevergreen Road.  While there is light at the end of the tunnel, we still have a couple months of work left on this project.

That’s all for now.  Enjoy the sunshine and be safe!
