Moving Right Along…

Hello readers!  Things are looking good on Highway 965…

Most of the patch work is complete.  The most southern patch (south of Eggy’s) required some base stabilization work.  That section should be poured today.  The northern two patches are complete.  By the beginning of next week, all of the work in the middle of the street should be done and the roadway reopened.  While the patches were not a major part of the project, removing the deteriorating asphalt will most certainly improve travel conditions.  Additionally, the smoother surface will be much easier on snow removal equipment. 

All of the cross walks are complete.  The only brick work remaining is at the sidewalk plazas at each intersection.  This means that no further closures of intersections will be required for this project.  This is great news for the businesses along Highway 965 and their customers.

The Golfview connection continues to take time to prepare.  As I previously mentioned, all of the grading work is complete at the new intersection.  The contractor plans to start paving today and hopes to have the intersection paved by the end of next week.

The one major concern for this project is temperatures.  The contractor will not be pouring concrete after today, until next week, because the overnight temperatures are projected to be low.  Those temps are supposed to come up next week, which should allow the contractor to finish the concrete work.

Things are really starting to come together.  Soon, there won’t be an orange cone on Highway 965.
