City Hall Reopened at 360 N Main St.

City Hall has moved from its previous, leased offices into the new, permanent building at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m.

The public can accesses the same services at the new location during the same business hours: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Departments located at the building include Administration, Billing and Finance, Building Inspection, Planning, Community Relations and Human Resources.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

MidAmerican Energy Notice

During the week of July 25-29,2011, MidAmerican Energy Company will be replacing a segment of its transmission pipeline across Clear Creek in Iowa City. Work will include depressurizing the pipeline and venting natural gas to the atmosphere at MidAmerican’s pipeline station at Dubuque Street and North Bend Drive in North Liberty. The sound of venting and the odor of natural gas may be noticeable to nearby residents, motorists, and pedestrians. Please be advised that this sound and odor is normal for this type of pipeline work.
This depressurization/venting will likely take place Wednesday and Friday, but may be occur on any day of that week. Work may begin as early as 7:00 a.111. and may occur throughout each day, possibly into the evening hours. Gas service will not be interrupted to our customers.
