City Hall Reopened at 360 N Main St.

City Hall has moved from its previous, leased offices into the new, permanent building at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m.

The public can accesses the same services at the new location during the same business hours: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Departments located at the building include Administration, Billing and Finance, Building Inspection, Planning, Community Relations and Human Resources.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Residents select June 9 to 12, 2016, for city-wide garage sales

mapnlLocal organizers, Lydia Fine and Francie Williamson, have selected the weekend of June 10, 2016 for city-wide garage sales in North Liberty and have set up an website with information for sellers and buyers: northlibertygaragesales.com (it’s pretty obvious when you think about it).

As a reminder to sellers, the City of North Liberty as sells observe the following signage rules relating to garage and yard sales:

  1. Garage sale signs are permitted in all zones but only on the property to which they apply.
  2. Garage sale signs shall be displayed not for more than 48 hours before or more than four hours after the end of the sale.
  3. Such signs shall not be larger than four square feet and no more than 2 signs may be posted for any garage sale.
  4. Such signs shall not be located within the street right-of-way between the curb and sidewalk. They shall not be located on gravel shoulders, within landscaped areas or obstructing landscaped areas at street intersections, nor shall they be attached to any traffic control posts or other public structures.
  5. A permit is not required for garage sale signs.
