Lane reduction, intersection closures and detours on N. Front Street

On Tuesday, July 15, and Wednesday, July 16, N. Front Street will see a number of lane reductions, intersection closures and detours while the road is widened and resurfaced.
The process, called “cold in place,” recycles the existing asphalt and requires a series of vehicles to follow each through the construction site.  This process means the following changes:

  • On Tuesday, July 15, and Wednesday, July 16, traffic along N. Front Street will be reduced to a single lane, with flaggers, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
  • On Tuesday, July 15, and Wednesday, July 16, at 9:30 a.m., the Cedar Springs Drive and N. Front  Street intersection will be closed. It is expected to be reopened by 10:30 a.m.
  • On Tuesday, July 15, and Wednesday, July 16, other accesses from Front Street north of Penn Street will be closed for periods of the day.
  • On Tuesday, July 15, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., N. Front Street will be closed from Penn Street to Jefferson Street. Traffic will be detoured east on Penn Street, north on Hodge Street and then west on Jefferson Street.

Drivers are urged to plan around these closures, allow extra travel time and find alternative routes when possible.
