City Hall Reopened at 360 N Main St.

City Hall has moved from its previous, leased offices into the new, permanent building at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m.

The public can accesses the same services at the new location during the same business hours: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Departments located at the building include Administration, Billing and Finance, Building Inspection, Planning, Community Relations and Human Resources.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

North Liberty Police Department perform alcohol compliance checks

Officers of the North Liberty Police Department Conducted Alcohol Compliance checks at businesses within the corporate city limits.  As a result of the compliance checks, the following businesses passed, refusing to sell alcohol to a person under the age of 21:

Casey’s General Store #2479, 625 W. Zeller Street, North Liberty, Iowa
Casey’s General Store #2788, 595 N. Kansas Avenue, North Liberty, Iowa
Red’s Ale House, 405 N. Dubuque Street, North Liberty, Iowa
Corridor Convenience, 620 Meade Drive, North Liberty, Iowa
Panchero’s Mexican Grill, 650 Community Drive, North Liberty, Iowa
J and A Tap, 440 N. Dubuque Street, North Liberty, Iowa
L.D. Express, 900 W. Penn Street, North Liberty, Iowa
Smokin’ Joe’s Tobacco and Liquor Outlet #12, 465 Hwy 965 Unit G, North Liberty, Iowa
Johncy’s Liquor Store, 585 Hwy 965, Ste E, North Liberty, Iowa
Twinz Bar and Grill, 245 Beaver Kreek Centre, North Liberty, Iowa
Walgreens #11710, 625 Pacha Parkway, North Liberty, Iowa
The following businesses were found not to be in compliance and served alcohol to a minor:
Corridor Ventures, 618 Meade Drive, North Liberty, Iowa. James Ryan Seaba, age 23, 10 Brown Deer Knls, Coralville, Iowa was cited and released for Providing Alcohol to a Person Under Age (Employee), Iowa Code section 123.49
Gasby’s #2, 1 Hawkeye Drive, North Liberty, Iowa. Kim Lavette Logan, age 49, 963 Boston Way Apt 1, Coralville, Iowa was cited and released for Providing Alcohol to a Person under Age (Employee), Iowa Code section 123.49
Kum and Go #507, 610 N. Kansas Avenue, North Liberty, Iowa. Kenneth N. Paige, age 17, 1692 Eight Point Trail, North Liberty, Iowa was cited and released for Providing Alcohol to a Person Under Age (Employee), Iowa Code section 123.49
Rocky O’Brien’s Public House, 720 Pacha Parkway Ste 8, North Liberty, Iowa. Chelsea Marie Scully, age 22, 495 SE 64th Street, Pleasant Hill, and Kalee Jo Schilling<, age 24, 1360 Logan Court, North Liberty, Iowa were both cited and released for Providing Alcohol to a Person Under Age (Employee), Iowa Code section 123.49
The violations listed above will be forwarded to the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division (ABD) located in Ankeny, Iowa for further review.  The outcome of the review could result in the business(s) being fined and or sanctioned at the ABD’s discretion.
The City of North Liberty would like to thank the businesses, and its employees, that passed the compliance check for taking the extra step to help keep North Liberty a safe community.
The charges filed in this case are merely accusations. The defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
