Emergency road closure due to force main break on W Zeller Street

Emergency utility work on Wednesday, Nov. 15, will require the closure of West Zeller Street between Zeller Crossing and Sugar Creek Lane.

This work is required because, around 1:06 p.m., North Liberty staff learned that the sanitary force sewer main on W. Zeller Street between Zeller Crossing and Sugar Creek Lane, was broken by a contractor. The main was bypassed by 1:20 p.m. but approximately 100 gallons of raw sewage has escaped the system. Repairs should be completed today.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resource was notified and all proper tests, protocols and procedures, including tests in Muddy Creek, are being taken as required by the Iowa DNR, which recommended, but did not require, this a public notice.
