New Trash Bins Being Delivered, Use Begins in July

Johnson County Refuse has been delivering 65- and 35-gallon trash bins to homes, and hopes to have all new bins delivered to homes by Friday, June 22. While residents can use the previously delivered recycling bins now, Johnson County Refuse won’t collect trash from the new trash bins until July 2018.

Starting in July, some residents will have a new collection day for trash, recycling and yard waste.

  • Residents west of Ranshaw Way (Highway 965) will be collected on Tuesdays
  • Residents east of Ranshaw Way (Highway 965) will continue being collected on Wednesdays

Services will be provided on July 3 and 4, 2018. You can see a calendar of collection dates, including those with every-other week service on the collection calendar.

Old, unwanted bins will be collected at the curb based on your address:

  • Customers west of Ranshaw Way (Highway Way 965) will have their bins collected on Friday, July 6, 2018.
  • Customers east of Ranshaw Way (Highway Way 965) will have their bins collected on Monday, July 9, 2018.

Containers should be empty and at the curb by 6 a.m. for collection.
