City Hall Reopened at 360 N Main St.

City Hall has moved from its previous, leased offices into the new, permanent building at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m.

The public can accesses the same services at the new location during the same business hours: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Departments located at the building include Administration, Billing and Finance, Building Inspection, Planning, Community Relations and Human Resources.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Make It Mondays: Penguin Hand

The North Liberty Recreation Department’s Make It Monday craft for Jan. 11 is an penguin hand craft. Included in this week’s kit are all the materials you need to make the craft (you should provide glue and scissors), coloring sheets, movie trivia and activity ideas.

Each week, Make It Monday offers a free to-go activity for kids. To participate in the program, simply stop by the North Liberty Community Center, 520 W. Cherry Street, and pick up an activity kit while supplies last. Kits are free.

How to Make It

Materials

  • Black paper
  • White paper or felt
  • Orange paper
  • Googly eyes
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Steps

  1. Trace the child’s hand on the black paper and cute it out.
  2. Cut a circle out of white paper or felt and glue it onto the black handprint.
  3. Cut a beak — a triangle out of folded paper — out of the orange paper
  4. Add the eyes.
  5. Waddle like a penguin.
