City Hall Reopened at 360 N Main St.

City Hall has moved from its previous, leased offices into the new, permanent building at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m.

The public can accesses the same services at the new location during the same business hours: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Departments located at the building include Administration, Billing and Finance, Building Inspection, Planning, Community Relations and Human Resources.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Bestselling Author Bethany C. Morrow Visits on Sept. 24

On Sept. 24 the North Liberty Library will welcome acclaimed and indie bestselling author Bethany C. Morrow.  Here’s all you need to know:

The five Ws

  • Who: All ages welcome, but geared toward teens and adults.
  • What: A free reading and conversation with Bethany C. Morrow, author of Mem, So Many Beginnings: A Little Women Remix and A Chorus Rises.
  • Where: North Liberty Community Center, 520 W Cherry St.
  • When: Saturday, Sept. 24, at 1 p.m.
  • Why: Hear from a favorite author.

More about Bethany C. Morrow

Bethany C Morrow is an indie bestselling author who writes for adult and young adult audiences, in genres ranging from speculative literary to contemporary fantasy to historical. She is author of the novels Mem and A Song Below Water, which is an Audie, Ignyte and Locus finalist. She is editor and contributor to the young adult anthology Take the Mic, the 2020 ILA Social Justice in Literature award winner. Her work has been chosen as Indies Introduce and Indie Next picks, and featured in The Los Angeles Times, Forbes, Bustle, Buzzfeed and more. She is included on USA Today‘s list of 100 Black novelists and fiction writers you should read.

Schedule

  • 11:30 a.m. teens are invited to a free luncheon and workshop with Bethany C. Morrow in the library meeting rooms.
  • 1 p.m. Author main event in Gerdin Conference Center.

COVID mitigations

  • Masks are required at this event under the author’s appearance agreement.

How to get there and where to park

  • North Liberty Community Center is located at 520 W Cherry St., accessible from both Cherry St and Community Dr.
  • Please park on the Community Center’s paved lots.
  • Skip the car and walk, bike or roller blade to the Community Center!

  • Sidekick Coffee and Books will be at the event with copies of the author’s books for sale
  • No registration is required. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
