Free Fun All Year Long with the City Slate

There’s always something fun — and free — to do in North Liberty. The new year will be stuffed full of free fun for everyone. We call it the City Slate, and you can get the information all in one place.

Each year, we bring back some favorites, add some new events and host long-time traditions. In all, we’ve planned dozens events, every one of them free attend thanks to our community sponsors.

Upcoming events will be announced throughout the year. January through April dates are posted now, and full details for each event will become available in the weeks leading up to each program. Dates and details are at northlibertyiowa.org/cityslate, and be sure to subscribe to our special events and activities email list to get our Know Before You Go newsletters for each one.

The City Slate has surprises to offer throughout its schedule, but community members can look forward to traditions like Blues & BBQ and Beat the Bitter, continuing programs like our summer concert at the Ranshaw House, mega kites, pool parties, holiday fun, campouts and fireworks.

The City Slate is made possible by our community sponsors A2Z Heating and Plumbing; Centro, Inc; Collins Community Credit Union; The Eastern Iowa Airport – CID; Hills Bank; MidWestOne Bank; Shive-Hattery; South Slope Cooperative; University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics; Urban Acres Real Estate and Veridian Credit Union.

While the City Slate is a compilation of our free and largest city-produced events, it is not a schedule of all of our community’s programs. Visit our community calendar to view these and other recreation, library and area events.
