City Hall Reopened at 360 N Main St.

City Hall has moved from its previous, leased offices into the new, permanent building at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m.

The public can accesses the same services at the new location during the same business hours: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Departments located at the building include Administration, Billing and Finance, Building Inspection, Planning, Community Relations and Human Resources.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

North Liberty Library – Meeting Room CD 

Join us for a new weekly social gathering that will feature rotating activities and friendly conversation – board games, puzzles, art, book discussions, and more! 

This week we’ll be playing card games and board games! We’ll have games ready to go at the library, but feel free to bring your own along as well! No registration required.

Stanley Sage – Jan Friedman

Join us for the first Stanley Sage session of the year, a program designed for older adults. This month, local artist Jan Friedman will discuss her career, process, and inspirations. 

Jan Friedman has been weaving since 1974. Jan received her MA in Textile Design at the University of Iowa in 1980. She has conducted workshops in weaving, color, and dyeing across the United States. Her tapestries and framed collage pieces have been featured in numerous invitational and juried exhibits and have been commissioned for both private homes and corporate collections.  

This program is supported by the Barbara and Richard Csomay Center for Gerontological Excellence. 

Trivia Night at the Library

Who doesn’t love a good battle of the brains? Invite your friends to join us for a night of trivia, snacks and small prizes! Teams can be made up of five people or fewer, but you don’t have to bring a team. Individuals can work together or separately. No registration required!

This week Hy-Vee will be catering once again and are expected to bring ham, au gratin potatoes, and green beans. After lunch we’ll have Kellee Forkenbrock from the North Liberty Library leading us in chair yoga! Registration for lunch is just $5 and is required for all who attend. Participants must register before noon on Thursday, March 7th. Call the Rec Center to register (319)626-5716 or go online to your RecDesk Account and register yourself. 

Senior Bowling Group 

1st and 3rd Tuesdays 

1-3 PM 

Colonial Lanes 2253 Old Hwy 218 S, Iowa City 

The Senior Bowling Group meets at Colonial Lanes on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday afternoons each month. The cost is $2 per game and you can bowl 1, 2, or 3 games as you feel comfortable doing. Balls and shoes are available at Colonial Lanes with a cost for shoe rental, or bring your own if you have them. We bowl for fun and fellowship; all are welcome, we’d be happy to have you join us! North Liberty Optimists Annual Pancake Breakfast 

March 9 

7 AM – 1 PM 

North Liberty Community Center 

North Liberty Optimists host their 50th annual community breakfast with all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee and drinks in March. The annual breakfast helps the Optimists donate $50,000 to local kids’ programs each year. 

Cost of tickets is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 10.
