City Hall Reopened at 360 N Main St.

City Hall has moved from its previous, leased offices into the new, permanent building at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m.

The public can accesses the same services at the new location during the same business hours: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Departments located at the building include Administration, Billing and Finance, Building Inspection, Planning, Community Relations and Human Resources.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The Plaza

Washington County Riverboat Foundation Plaza

The paved path, decorative concrete, seating areas, landscaping and greenspace between the event center, rock park and pavilion for residents and visitors to gather, unwind or host events.

The Lawn

Relion Insurance Solutions Lawn

The focused lawn in front of the stage that will house audiences of 500 to 5,000 for free and ticketed music, comedy, dance, theater and acrobatic shows and outdoor movies.

One of the exciting features the City has already incorporated in the park. Since their installation in 2018, 10 large boulders have provided children unique entertainment.

Play Yard

Watts Family Play Yard

A premier splash pad, small shelter and three playgrounds in the northeast corner of the park — with inclusive play features to offer fun for children of all mobilities. Construction anticipated during Phase Two (2026).

Gifts to name areas throughout Centennial Park. These philanthropic gifts will be recognized by name in all City references and marketing of the park in perpetuity unless otherwise noted. Encore partners’ name or business logo also included on donor wall.

Pavilion

Schedule a Meeting

A versatile, open-air pavilion with space to host farmers’ markets, craft fairs, beverage gardens, luncheons, graduation parties, guest speakers, celebrations and a seasonal ice rink. The pavilion will also provide additional programming space for events that extend beyond the event center and stage. Construction anticipated during Phase Three (2027).

Event Center

A multipurpose space is critical for our growing community. Designed to accommodate a 300-person seated or 499-person standing room event. Public events will include craft fairs, author visits, nonprofit programs, community breakfasts and small concerts. Private rentals will include weddings, business functions and reunions.

Amphitheatre

A unique outdoor performance venue for North Liberty, Johnson County and Eastern Iowa. A wide range of free and ticketed entertainment will be showcased seasonally including performances by touring artists, comedians, symphony orchestras, theater companies, acrobatic groups, local dance studios and school choir and band ensembles.

Phase 1: The Centennial Center and stage, necessary utilities, exterior restrooms and expanded plaza space, is in design with an expected opening of summer 2025.
Phase 2: Splash pad and expanded playground with wheelchair-accessible playground units, plus a picnic shelter with additional restrooms, shade structures and expanded parking. The phase could be open by summer 2026, or earlier with additional financial support.
Phase 3: A year-round pavilion and an expansive plaza space.
Phase 4: An honor garden and additional parking.
