Budget Public Hearing for the Maximum Levy

Every year, cities across Iowa hold public hearings prior to the adoption of their annual budgets. These budgets show how property taxes in the general fund will pay for services and amenities including police and fire departments, libraries, and parks and recreation facilities. They also account for how road use taxes from gasoline sales will pay for roads and their maintenance and how funds for water, sewer, storm water and refuse collection will come in, go out, and be saved for improvements and upkeep.

In 2019, the State of Iowa adopted rules requiring cities hold additional public hearings, as North Liberty will at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers on April 8, 2025.
