City Hall Reopened at 360 N Main St.

City Hall has moved from its previous, leased offices into the new, permanent building at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m.

The public can accesses the same services at the new location during the same business hours: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Departments located at the building include Administration, Billing and Finance, Building Inspection, Planning, Community Relations and Human Resources.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Come see what the North Liberty Community Center has to offer during our spring open house.

The five Ws

  • Who: Community members of all ages.
  • What: A Community Center open house! Meet city staff, tour library and recreation center facilities, get access to discounted rec membership fees, sign up for a library card, learn about city programs, make a craft, grab a snack, score fun giveaways and enter to win one of two giant swag bags filled with city gear.
  • Where: North Liberty Community Center, 520 W. Cherry St.
  • When: Wednesday, April 3, between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.
  • Why: Get to know the North Liberty Community Center!

What to expect

  • Explore upcoming Rec Department programs and events and take advantage of special offers. Get 25% off all Rec memberships (available only during this open house)!
  • Learn about library services and upcoming library events and activities and sign up for a library card.
  • Take a tour of the Library, Rec Center and Aquatic Center facilities.
  • Meet city staff and get information about city programs, like our free summer lunch program, Ranshaw House programs, and NLTAP (the North Liberty Transportation Assistance Program).
  • Learn about community organizations that host free programs at the Community Center and the Ranshaw House, like United Action for Youth and the Iowa City Senior Center.
  • Have an idea for something that should be happening (or happening differently) at the Community Center? Stop by our suggestions table and share your thoughts with city staff.
  • Visit with staff from DVIP and Johnson County Social Services who will be sharing resources and highlighting Child Abuse Prevention Month with giveaways for kids and families.
  • Make a craft, grab some light refreshments, score fun giveaways like pinwheels, pens and stickers, and enter to win one of two giant swag bags filled with city gear, including Snuggies, mugs, bike helmets, rec center facility passes and more!

About the Community Center

Located at 520 W. Cherry St., the North Liberty Community Center houses the library, indoor/outdoor aquatic center and recreation center. The 17,900 square foot facility offers year-round space for reading, exercise, arts and crafts, meetings and celebrations, leagues and more. The Recreation Center features two full-size gymnasiums, an 1/8 mile indoor walking track, weight and cardio machines, meeting rooms and a kitchen. Community members can also reserve study rooms or meeting rooms in the library. Regular Community Center programming is provided for all ages throughout the year.
