Spring Vendor Fair
The NLRC is offering local vendors, crafters, and sellers the opportunity to rent a spot and is open to anyone who wishes to set up a booth and sell goods to the public. We attempt to keep this as close to a non-competing event as possible. Vendors are not be allowed to leave the event early and please respect other vendors and do close up shop prior to the finish. Vendors must supply own table(s), but chairs are provided by NLRC. Additional spots may be purchased if more space is needed. Electricity is available upon request as well.

North Liberty Lions Club Burrito Breakfast
North Liberty Lions Club will host a burrito breakfast from 8-11AM surrounding the vendor fair. Tickets available from North Liberty Lions Club members, at the North Liberty Community Library or at the door. Cost per ticket is $5 which includes two sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast burritos and coffee, juice, or milk. These burritos will have you ROARING for more!

Easter Egg Hunt
The North Liberty Optimist Club and the NLRC co-sponsor the annual Easter Egg Hunt. Candy is spread outside on the ground if nice weather or if inclement weather, event is moved inside to both gymnasiums. Don’t be late, the candy vanishes in minutes!

Plots, at the Meade Barn Property, East of Penn Meadows Sports Complex, are available in North Liberty on a first-come, first serve basis. The plots are 10 by 30 feet, and a hydrant and tool shed are available. Planting begins in late spring and plots are cleared by Nov. 1.
Registration is in person at the Community Center only, and 2013 plot holders can register beginning Friday, April 4, at 6 a.m., new plot holders can register starting on Friday, April 11, at 6 a.m. A plot number will be assigned after registration, payment and lease agreement are completed.
Fee per plot: Residents $30, Non-res $35.
Chicago Cubs vs. Milwaukee Brewers
to go see a local favorite: Chicago Cubs versus the Milwaukee Brewers at Wrigley Stadium on Sunday, May 18. Don’t worry about the hassle of getting tickets, driving, tolls or parking — because we have it covered! Registration ends May 4, but register early, spots fill up fast! We will not be making any stops on way out but will stop at Oasis in Dekalb on way back home.Food and drink are allowed on the bus in a small cooler, but no alcohol allowed. $70 includes a ticket and transportation. Charter bus leaves the North Liberty Community Center at 6 a.m. and return at approximately 11 p.m.; first pitch at Wrigley is 1:20 p.m. and the charter will leave Chicago at 6 p.m.

Free Fishing Weekend
Come join us at Liberty Centre from 10 a.m. to noon for a day of free fishing and aquatic education organized by the Iowa DNR, Scheel’s All-Sports and the City of North Liberty. Bring your own pole or check out one of ours (bring an ID). Try to catch anything from a bluegill to a catfish right here in town! Learn to cast, identify various fish and turtles by checking out various tanks containing Iowa native species, and about water and boat safety. Enjoy a free hot dog and stick around until the end for chance to win free fishing items. This even is for all ages, but children must be accompanied by adults.
Fish Iowa! Games Eastern Iowa Cast Off
Cast away at Liberty Centre Pond from 9 to 11 a.m.! All Iowa youth are eligible to participate. Registration opens April 2014. Register online at www.iowagames.org. All competitors will cast at one time, but scored in three age divisions: 8 years and under; 9 &ndash 11 year and 12 years and older. Awards ceremony will follow the competition. The entry fee is &5. Register online or onsite.
Double Dollar Days
Help us celebrate the summer months by attending the pool for only $2 on June 7 and 8, July 5 and 6 and August 2 and 3 from noon to 6 p.m.! Enjoy outdoor pool amenities such as two large waterslides, zero-depth entry, 3-meter diving board and much more! All ages are welcome, but children 9 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
h3>Outdoor & Nature Education (O.N.E.) Packs
Exploring the outdoors continues! Ten backpacks are available to get children/families involved in the outdoors. Supported by the Iowa DNR Resource Enhancement and Protection Conservation Education Program, the packs are filled with fun & educational activities. Themes include: Birds, Animals of Iowa, Trees, Insects, Outdoor Skills, Aquatic Habitats, Creatures of the Night, Wildflowers & Prairies, Rocks & Minerals, and the Wild Turkey.
Packs checkout forms must be completed and a credit card number put on file to cover any lost or broken items. Packs can be checked out for two weeks at a time.
Laser Tag Day
June 14 will be a day that lives in infamy. It will be a day of laser tag fun at Centennial Park! We will be renting the equipment in 90-minute blocks to groups of up to 16. After 15 minutes of rules and safety, blast each other with provide guns, ammo, and life packs! Duck and cover behind the provided barricades during a number of different games. Renters take all responsibility of injury and accept full responsibility for any broken equipment.
The fun is for humans ages 9 years and older. Register by June 9 by contacting Matt Meseck at email@example.com or (319) 626-5716 to reserve your 90-minute slot. Blasting each other with lasers will cost $60 for 2-8 guns or $120 for 9-16 guns.

Great American Backyard Campout
Join us for a backyard campout at the Community Center. Activities will include fishing, learning how to cook on a campfire, swimming, movies and breakfast. Watch for more information to follow. Participants are encouraged to bring games and activities to share. Schedule of events to follow and campfires are welcome. If the weather is poor we will move the campout inside and games, movies, and activities will be provided. Get the cameras out! Everyone is encouraged to take photos throughout the community and submit their favorite five into our contest! Photo submission and registration required by June 30. Entries are posted at the NLRC and judged on July 1. Winner to receive a $25 gift certificate to the North Liberty Recreation Center and photo will be featured in an upcoming brochure. Bring your dog for some fun in the sun/water at the 5th Annual Doggie Plunge! One dog per person and provide proof of current rabies and distemper vaccinations the day of the event. Individuals
are not allowed o be deeper than 2 feet in the water due to no chemical treatments for the dog’s safety. If dogs are unable to “play nice” they may be asked to leave without refund.
Pet owners 16 years and older are welcome (children 15 years and under are not allowed within the gated area due to some pets not being good with kids).

Third Annual North Liberty Youth Triathlon, Just Tri!
Come aboard the Celebration Belle and relive the classic hits from the 30s, 40s and 50s. Live entertainment will play the hits of Patsy Cline, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Elvis, Johnny Cash and many more. Homemade sticky rolls and fruit, full hot two-entree lunch buffet, afternoon snack and live entertainment all during this four-hour cruise sailing from Moline, Ill. There is a full bar for those who wish to enjoy and pay for a more stiff drink. The riverboat is air conditioned for comfort. Please note that transportation will be in 15-seat passenger vans; some climbing is expected.

CR Kernels / City of North Liberty Night
It’s a night to spend with your neighbors, Mr. Shucks and the Kernels, now in their second season as an affiliate to the Minnesota Twins.
The game is Saturday, August 16, and first pitch is 6:35PM. Tickets are $7 per person, kids 3 years and younger are free (must provide own transportation to CR).
Senior citizens, are you looking for a new social outlet, a reasonable meal and locale to make friends? Join other North Liberty senior citizens for an hour of social activity at 11 a.m., followed by a meal from the Iowa City Senior Center at noon. Meals are $5 each and need to be reserved by calling the North Liberty Recreation Center (319) 626-5716 by 4:30 p.m. the Thursday prior to each dining date.
