HY-VEE CENTER

Accepting reservations for November 2025 - December 2026 events.

The Hy-Vee Center at Centennial Park is the perfect venue to hold business meetings, graduation and birthday parties, networking events, family reunions, weddings, and other special events. With access to a catering prep kitchen, two private dressing rooms, modern audio-visual equipment and built-in colored accent lighting to customize every event, Hy-Vee Center is a premier venue in the heart of the corridor. Attached to the south side of the building is an outdoor amphitheater. This space may be added to rentals as a reception area, for expanded programming or presentation space. With several play structures in the park there is entertainment for even the youngest event guests.

Rates for 3-and 6-hour rentals

Large functions needing more than 6 hours, such as weddings and business galas, have different rental rates and can be reserved for one or two days. View wedding and gala pricing here.

HY-VEE AMPHITHEATRE

Accepting reservations for May - September 2026 events.

Hy-Vee Amphitheatre at Centennial Park connects the community through art, offering a curated mix of free and ticketed performances produced by the City of North Liberty to provide arts access for residents and visitors.  The amphitheater is also available for private and public rental for local theatre productions, dance recitals, choir performances, band concerts, award ceremonies and more.  The 2,700-square-foot south-facing stage is attached to the Hy-Vee Center’s indoor event space, providing easy access to dressing rooms, a concession window, and public and private restrooms.

WEDDINGS & GALAS

Hy-Vee Center & Amphitheatre is nestled in the heart of the corridor in North Liberty's Centennial Park, conveniently located just off Interstate 380 between Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. Inside, this large and bright space features soaring ceilings and a wall of windows that flood the room with natural light, creating a warm, open vibe. Fully air-conditioned, this event space is comfortable no matter which time of year you plan to book. With plenty of space for even the largest celebrations, the event hall accommodates 300 seated guests and 400 in a theater-style seating arrangement, with a maximum capacity of 500. You and your wedding party can begin the day in the two private dressing rooms, where you can relax and enjoy being pampered for the day ahead. Outside, the amphitheater can be used as a ceremony space or cocktail and reception area. The great lawn and beautiful pond combine to create a gorgeous backdrop for your wedding photography, while the nearby playground creates a play space for the youngest members on your guest list. Existing Park Amenitites

Although still under development, Centennial Park offers many amenities to enhance events and programs hosted in the park’s facilities and for residents to enjoy on a daily basis. Existing park features include:

  • Rock playground
  • Traditional playground
  • Hard-surface parking
  • Surrounding drive and walking trail
  • Stocked pond
  • State’s largest bioswale
  • Open green space

North Liberty’s parks and trails are nicotine-free. The use of tobacco, nicotine, vape and other electronic smoking devices are prohibited in our parks, trails and other city-owned and maintained recreation areas. FUTURE PARK PHASES

The City of North Liberty acquired a 40-acre parcel, now called Centennial Park, back in 2010 with the vision of creating an entertainment park on the west side of town, just a mile off Interstate 380. City Council never lost sight of this vision – investing in the park’s infrastructure and executing events – and as North Liberty’s population exploded over the past decade, administration repeatedly heard stakeholders’ call for more gathering and entertainment spaces.

Centennial Park will be a park that residents will cherish as a quality-of-life amenity, businesses will boast about when recruiting employees, and visitors will rave about when they talk about Iowa.

Phase 1: Hy-Vee Center & Amphitheatre, exterior restrooms, plaza space and necessary utilities to support all phases.
Phase 2: A splash pad and expanded playground with wheelchair-accessible play units, a picnic shelter, additional restrooms, shade structures and expanded parking.
Phase 3: A year-round pavilion and an expansive plaza space.
Phase 4: An honor garden and additional parking.
